Ghana;s COVID-19 cases up again with 173 new cases.
Ghana’s total cases now stand at 6,269, according to the latest update by the Ghana Health Service (GHS).
The increase, is as the result of new cases found in Greater Accra, Ashanti, Western and Central regions on 20/05/2020/
The update also indicated 125 more recoveries, raising the number of recoveries to 1,898.
As of Wednesday night [May 20, 2020], the number of deaths remains at 31.
The Greater Accra region still leads with 4,582 cases, followed by the Ashanti Region with 921 cases and the Central region with 285 cases.
The cases in the Western and Eastern regions has now increased to 170 and 106 respectively.
So far, the Savannah, Ahafo and Bono East regions have not recorded any case of the virus.
The surge in the cases means the president of Ghana, His Excellency Nana Akufo Addo has to take programmatic approach to help fight the spread of the disease. The outbreak of COVID-19 has affected so many businesses in the world, most economies are struggling in the midst of this pandemic.
No vaccine has been found to cure the virus though many are under test but nothing has proven positive.
