President of Ghana, his Excellency Nana Addo earlier yesterday 22nd September, 2020 presented 10,000 hospital beds to the ministry of health for distribution to health facilities in the country.
This donation took place in Accra at Burma Camp Airforce Base. The beds included 1,500 critical care beds with overhead tables, 2,000 standard beds with backside lockers, 4,000 health centre beds with bedside lockers, 1,000 children’s cots and 1,500 delivery beds.
The President said the beds, which had been customised to maximise comfort for patients, would be distributed to health facilities in all 275 constituencies.
A sod cutting ceremony took place before the presentation of the beds to the Ministry of Health. As usual, when a president is handing over an equipment or facility to an institution, sod cutting takes place before the handing over.
This time, Ghanaians have taken to social media to troll the president for cutting sod for just hospital beds before the beds were presented.
Most have asked the president to do something better than cutting sod for the hospital beds, and have stated, they are so much disappointed in the president for doing that. Some also asked, is it because the president has done no project that is why common beds too, he has to cut sod before the presentation.
Others said, Ghana’s politics has been reduced in a manner that is very cheap to the extent that, sod has to be cut before hospital beds are presented.
