John Mahama is a former president and the flagbearer of the largest opposition party (NDC) in Ghana. Mahama climbed the highest office after the sitting president, professor John Evans Atta Mills passed on in July 2012. He was the vice president to Mills that time, so, as it is in Ghana’s 1992 constitution that, when a sitting president dies the vice automatically becomes the president, John mahama was quickly sworn in as the president of Ghana in July 2012. In the 2012 general election, Ghanaians gave John Mahama the mandate to rule Ghana by beaten Nana Akufo Addo in the election. Mahama after his first term, lost the 2016 election to the man he has once beaten.

In the run up to the 2020 elections, John Mahama is making a strong come back to beat his rival, Nana Akufo Addo with the revelation of some key policies to implement when he wins the upcoming election.

1.John Mahama promised to make free healthcare delivery for all Ghanaians if he win the election, John Mahama reveals this to Ghanaians during the outdooring ceremony of his running mate on 27th July, 2020 in Accra.

He stated that, though teachers need license to operate, they need not to write another exam before given the license, Mr. Mahama made it known that, the teachers have written so many exams while in school, so why the need for them to write another exam before given the license.

3.Job creation, JM revealed that, his vision this time is to provide the youth with sustainable jobs, he said the challenge Ghana is facing is job creation so he has made it a core mandate to provide the youth with jobs when given the mandate for the second time, with agenda BIG PUSH.

4.Infrastructural development, John Mahama is known by many when it comes to infrastructure development. During his tenure in office, Ghana has seen major development in infrastructure across many sectors, modern hospitals, modern markets, Airports, roads, school blocks, railways and many more. with his records compared to the current president, he is having advantage over them.

5. Violence free, during the tenure of John Mahama as the president of Ghana, violence compared to what we are seeing now is less, no attacks on personality after criticizing him. But today you can’t just talk about the president and go free, political victimization is on the rise, soldiers are being used to prevent citizens from registering as Ghanaians to demonstrate their right in the general election, so Ghanaians want to see a leader who is more tolerance without any intimidation.

6.A leader who is not deceitful, Ghanaians are saying this time, they are awake and there is no way they will vote for a leader who will deceive them again, to them, they think Mahama was truthful than the current leadership. Because they were made to believe Nana Addo can do better not knowing all were lies, so this time, that mistake will never repeat itself, as they have made in 2016 general election.
